Praba serves as the Founder and Director of Smart Town Planning, bringing his expertise as a qualified Town Planner and Urban Designer with over 15 years of experience in planning, design, consultation, and land development across private and government sectors in Australia and Sri Lanka. Over the past eight years, he has practised planning in Victoria through Smart Town Planning Pty Ltd, engaging in a wide spectrum of activities, such as coordinating statutory planning projects, handling planning permit applications, structure planning, planning scheme amendments, and providing strategic planning advice.
With an in-depth understanding of Victorian Planning Provisions, Praba demonstrates proficiency in leading his team to complete various scale planning projects successfully. He has become an expert in preparing detailed town planning reports for diverse projects, showing meticulous attention to minor details. Managing applications across more than 30 Councils in Victoria, Praba has achieved a high success rate.
Praba possesses a unique skill set developed through his extensive planning journey, initially taking on a significant role in strategic planning in Sri Lanka and currently focusing primarily on statutory planning projects in Australia. In 2022, he completed a Diploma in Building Construction to broaden his knowledge in the building industry, aiming to provide a comprehensive service to stakeholders, especially developers and builders.
Currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration at Melbourne University, Praba aims to enhance his business administration skills to lead the company effectively. In addition to his professional endeavours, he actively supports the broader community, serving as a Board Member of Bridging Lanka Australia since 2016. He has also chaired numerous local community organisations, contributing to fulfilling community needs.
